Based in the North West of England, in Lancashire, we're ideally located just 15 minutes from the M6 and about an hour from Manchester - en route to the Lake District. We typically stock around 20 motorhomes and campervans at any given time.
We hand-pick our stock from a variety of sources, with many vehicles arriving via part exchange. Every retail motorhome and campervan is HPi checked, fully inspected, serviced, and prepared by our expert engineers before delivery - giving you peace of mind with every purchase. All of our service engineers are fully gas qualified to work on your motorhome, campervan, or touring caravan.
At John Charles Motorhomes, we pride ourselves on high standards of presentation and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Our experienced sales team is on hand to help you choose the right motorhome or campervan for your needs and lifestyle. If you're buying your first vehicle, we'll take the time to walk you through every feature during handover, so you're ready to relax on site straight away.
We can also arrange delivery of your new motorhome or collection of your part exchange vehicle, provided you've visited us first. Our location, surrounded by beautiful countryside and the Trough of Bowland, is ideal for a short break after collecting your vehicle. There's also an abundance of local campsites and storage facilities available - just ask us for recommendations.

Ashley has worked across multiple roles at both sites since 2014 and now manages the touring caravan site. He’s the one who sources our stock and is extremely particular about what he buys, only high-quality vans make the cut. If you're selling your van, he’ll be the one to pick it up and help out. With extensive knowledge of both the company and the industry, he’s always ready to support our team and customers with their purchases.
James
James has been with the company since 2013 and, with over 16 years of experience in the leisure industry, now leads our motorhome site as the manager. With extensive knowledge of both the company and the industry, he ensures customers find the right vehicle for their needs. Passionate about motorhomes, campervans, and VW vans, James knows the industry inside and out and is always ready to assist with any questions.
Camron
Camron joined us in 2023 and brings a ton of energy and ambition to the sales team. Whether he's helping customers find their perfect touring caravan or assisting in our on-site shop, Camron always goes the extra mile to ensure everyone leaves happy. His enthusiasm and commitment to great service make him a key part of the Burlingham.
Erle
Erle came on board in 2025 and plays a key role in supporting our customers before and after their purchase. From assisting with handovers to making sure each sale runs smoothly, he’s always on hand to help. Erle also sources parts and provides support in our shop, making him a reliable and friendly face for all things touring caravans.
Linda
Linda joined us in 2023 and is a friendly, reliable face during our busiest times. Working weekends in the shop, she makes sure no customer is left waiting. With her approachable manner and solid product knowledge, Linda is always ready to help you find the right part or accessory for your caravan.

Phil has been in the retail industry since 1982 and spent 22 years as Sales and Marketing Director at Vauxhall. Since 2013, he has led the business with a strong focus on growth, customer service, and delivering quality products. Phil is passionate about building a team that is customer focused with great attitudes, and he is committed to ensuring every customer receives exceptional service. This dedication is clearly reflected in our reviews. Always looking for ways the company can improve, Phil continues to drive the business forward with energy and vision. He values having his son Ashley and long-standing team member James alongside him, both of whom have played a key role in helping steer the business in the right direction.
